The
Jimna High Country Enduro, the
first Qld long course event for the year was held on 18
April. The event was shortened from
two days to one day due to a lack of entries. however it was still a great
success. It was 150km of racing through steep tree lined
tracks & some open grassy stretches. Rob Chapman and Ross Challacombe in t
heir Extreme 4WD Pajero finished
first in class and third outright for the weekend. Clayton
Chapman and Adam McGuire in their Production 4WD Triton
placed first in class and fourth outright. Leila Chapman and
Melisa Huxstep in the Extreme 4WD Pajero finished second in
class and ninth outright. The boys had no issues with the
Triton all weekend, however Rob suffered a broken front CV
which was replaced during a service interval. Leila was
lucky to make it to the finish line on the last lap with her
Pajero almost running out of fuel. The finish was at
the bottom of a hill so she was able to coast down the hill
and across the line.
The next event for Chapmans is the Offroad Expo held at Land Cruiser Mountain
Park on
1 & 2 May
